Cherish Your Marriage

My husband of 54 years passed away several months ago. I used to take for granted the times we walked down the street holding hands or the laughter we shared over a joke or a silly movie. I look at couples, enjoying each other’s company in a wistful way now—wishing I’d enjoyed the last moments we had together more fully.

I love the laughter in this picture.

Here are some tips that make my hind-sight twenty-twenty:

1.     Cherish the moments you have together. You never know when they’ll be gone.
2.     Say, “I love you,” “Thanks you,” “Please,” very often.
3.     Laugh together.
4.     Snuggle close on a cold winter day, or hold hands in the sunny park on a balmy day.
5.     Surprise each other with something just for fun

Nurture your relationship.

The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.
