Which Comes First . . . Thinking or Feeling?

One summer our family took a reunion trip to the birth place of an ancestor on an island off the coast of Maine. We had thoughtfully planned most of the summer for our August trip. We were all very excited to be there.

Did our feelings create our  thinking or  did our thoughts lead to our excitement? Our enthusiasm came from our anticipation of this adventure.

Most of us make the common mistake of believing that our feelings create our thinking. We can allow our feelings to take charge of our lives, but then we have no direction or goals. Our feelings pull us this way and that without any plan as to the path we should follow.
Recent research on the brain indicates that we can change ourselves and our lives with our thinking and experience. Generate the life you want to live—your dream—by modifying your thoughts to create feelings and actions congruous with the existence you desire.
Watch for a new book coming September 1st, 2013, Becoming Free, a step by step guide to creating the life you want to live.

  1. Nice post. We have a brain scientist in our ward, so I'm used to this type of analysis.
