Where Is Heaven?

-->
I stand in the back yard under the tall pines, listening to the wind glide through the branches and think of a green field and far away mountains. This is heaven.

I snuggle a grandchild on my lap and spin a tale near and dear to us, taking advantage of that magical time between wake and sleep where love can be found. This is heaven.

I drive down a street lined with Jacaranda trees dressed in purple blossoms, filling the air with their fragrant scent. This is heaven.

Earth’s crammed with heaven
And every common bush afire with God,
But only he who sees, takes off his shoes.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning

My Mother has cancer and is getting closer to, as she calls is, 'graduating' every day now. I’m happy she’ll be in that beautiful place called heaven. I've been thinking a lot about it, and I can’t help but feel its loveliness surrounds us now—if we’ll only look.

  1. What a beautiful post dear friend. Yes, we do need to recognize more of the Heaven that surrounds us. I love the quote by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
    My thoughts and prayers will be with you all and your dear mother. Heaven will be near during this time; I know that to be true.
    Blessings, love and hugs!
