I stand in the back yard under the tall pines, listening to
the wind glide through the branches and think of a green field and far away
mountains. This is heaven.

Which Comes First . . . Thinking or Feeling?
One summer our family took a reunion trip to the birth place of an ancestor on an island off the coast of Maine. We had thoughtfully planned most of the summer for our August trip. We were all very excited to be there.
Did our feelings create our thinking or did our thoughts lead to our excitement? Our enthusiasm came from our anticipation of this adventure.

Vision of Love
Is it possible to teach love? I like to think it's greater to model love. My mother is helping our grandchild learn about love.
As a child comes into a home, she
needs to be loved. Parents can affirm the child’s life and wants. Watching a
child’s personality develop is like seeing a beautiful rose open. We exclaim
over each petal as it unfolds. A child establishes her view of herself as her self-concept
develops. She sees herself as you see her—in the context of your vision.
Let your vision be one of great value.
“Treat a man as he is and he
will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can and should be, and he will become
as he can and should be.” -Goethe
